Our story
A bakery on flip-flop time.
We bake the desserts we wished existed on the best day of our last vacation. Then we open the doors at 7 a.m. so you can have them on a Tuesday.


Beach Bum started in 2014 with a single convection oven, a borrowed mixer, and a stubborn idea: a dessert can transport you. One bite of a really good coconut cake and suddenly you're back on that trip, the one where everything felt easy.
Today, we're a small team of eight bakers working out of our shop two blocks from the Atlantic. We hand-mix every batch. We use real butter, real fruit, real vanilla. We don't believe in freezing things. We do believe in salt on chocolate, lime in everything, and never rushing a cookie.
The brand is named after our founder's golden retriever, Bum — a 14-year-old beach hound who is technically our most senior employee. He doesn't bake but he supervises.
